Utricularia dichotoma
Utricularia dichotoma * * commonly known as fairy aprons * Sold in 1" plugs bare root * A variable, perennial species of terrestrial bladderwort. The specific epithet is Latin for "dividing into pairs" and refers to the double arrangement of flowers which this species often displays. This species has a large range and is native to New Caledonia, Australia (where it is present in all territories except Northern Territory and ACT) and New Zealand. Most Utricularia are terrestrial species, which means they live in moist, and usually waterlogged soil. They may be perennials or annuals. Many of the annual species are only annuals in the wild because their habitats dry up during some time of year. The bladders function underground where they are submerged in water. * * #planthoe #militantplanthoe #junglehouse #militantbystander #carnivorousplantnerds #carnivorousplantscollection
